Dr Maureen Tong is an Accredited Certified Coach (ACC) of the International Coaching Federation (ICF). Her first qualification in Coaching was the Diploma in Coaching awarded by CoachCompanion of Scandinavia AB in July 2017. She achieved international certification in coaching in September 2019 when she was awarded the qualification from the Accredited Coach Training Programme (ACTP) by CoachCompanion of Scandinavia AB.

Dr Tong is the CEO of CoachCompanion South Africa. She is the former Deputy Company Secretary of Coaches and Mentors of South Africa (COMENSA). Apart from peer reviewed academic publications on law and gender, she has authored the book on Coaching entitled: Pour Into Your Soul – Let Your Cup Overflow

Dr Maureen Tong has coached international clients including from the United States of America and Bahamas. She serves as coach partner for the When Women Heal USA Blue Print Planning where she had clients from financial services, not for profit companies, and retail.

Dr Tong provided experiential coach training for more than 100 learning and development managers from the Middle East and Africa (MEA) Region of AkzoNobel in 2020. Participants came from countries such as Pakistan, India, Dubai, Saudi Araba, Algeria, Tunisia, Lesotho, Zambia South Africa and Botswana.

She has provided coaching services to a number of companies and government departments in Botswana such as Boitekanelo College; Limkokwing University Botswana; Botswana Fibre Network (BOFINET); Botswana Department of Rural Development and Local Government; Water Utilities Corporation (WUC); Progressive Institute; Rea Vaya Travel and Tours; and Hollard Life Botswana.

Dr Tong serves as an embedded coach for Deloitte School of Alchemy’s Authentic Women in Leadership (AWIL) Program and the Global Executive Leadership Program (GELP). She also served as coach for the Deloitte Inclusive Leadership Programme for Distell. Dr Tong is a coach for the Wholesale and Retail Sector Education Training Authority (W & R SETA)

Her coaching clients for Deloitte Southern Africa’s AWIL Prog are from companies such as BMW; Auditor General of South Africa (AGSA); Standard Bank of Namibia; and BancABC of Zimbabwe. Her coaching clients from Deloitte’s GELP are from companies such as the Financial Services Conduct Authority (FSCA), Botswana Oil, BancABC of Zimbabwe, Bank of Namibia, and Standard Bank of Namibia.

Dr Maureen Tong is a parttime lecturer on leadership at Wits Business School (WBS), her learning modules include professional coaching. Her teaching delivery includes peer coaching and learning. She has trained executives from companies such as Daimler Chrysler; Mercedes Benz South Africa; South African Airways (SAA) Giesecke and Devrient; JCDecaux; Eskom Pension and Provident Fund; Eskom; Rohlig Grindrod; Rand Water; Vaal University of Technology (VUT); National Nuclear Regulator of South Africa; Nuclear Energy Corporation of South Africa (NECSA); NTP Radioisotopes SOC; etc

She worked as Project Officer for Botswana, Democratic Republic of Congo, South Africa and Namibia at the African Management Services Company (AMSCO) a Project of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP African Development Bank; the World Bank, the International Finance Corporation (IFC).
